It’s important to know that the patch cycle that produces Release Updates (RU) and Release Update Revisions (RUR) actually is the quarterly Critical Patch Update (CPU) Program for database version 12.2 and beyond.
Thus, the release dates of the CPU Program apply to the RU/RUR cycle as well. Small fact, big effect on searching the web. 🙂

“They are released on the Tuesday closest to the 17th day of January, April, July and October.”
